We’re doing things a little bit different this week, since life is a little bit different this week.
We had some really exciting moments in both our life and business and just wanted to take a few moments to share those with you. We also wanted to take some time to encourage and love on each of you during this unprecedented time.
MARC LIFE UPDATE
If you read our email last week, you know that Marc went off to camp with her high school students this past week. She had so much fun, and even was undefeated on her soccer team with some of the students. She also took third place in the three on three basketball tournament.
On Wednesday, she took a dive and broke her elbow in three places. The doctor even told her how impressive the break was. This is her first ever broken bone — going big at age 27! She has spent the last few days learning how to navigate daily activities using only her right hand. She is thankful to her family and husband for stepping up and helping where they can as it has not been easy!
She has surgery scheduled for this Wednesday to put some screws and plates in her elbow. If you think about MARC this week, send up a little prayer for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. We'd both be so grateful!
BARB LIFE UPDATE
BARB spent the weekend in Lynchburg, VA celebrating a dear friend as she married the love of her life. The wedding was in a greenhouse and it was absolutely stunning - full of greenery and laughter and so much love. (Barb even got to sit right next to the rainbow swiss chard...aren't greenhouses cool?!) Her husband was able to join her just in time for the big event - he came straight from Fort Gillem and his army training week. For those of you who don't know, he is a medical doctor and captain in the US Army. The two of them will be traveling home to Tampa tomorrow and they were able to located some toilet paper, dried beans and water on their trip so they are all set for the week ahead ;)
BIZ UPDATE
As you know, lately we have been stepping out of the online shop world on Etsy, and have been doing some in person markets. We started with the farmers market over at the University Village in Fort Myers, but all along we had applied and were hoping to get into a large vintage market in our area.
It is a three day market that we think fits our woodworking product line SO well. We made it on a wait list about a month ago...AND THEN ON TUESDAY they offered us a spot IN THE MARKET.
The market was scheduled for next weekend, and we knew we were cutting it close but we accepted anyway and started busting it out to be prepared. Just when we thought we weren't going to finish production in time, they postponed the market due to the coronavirus and rescheduled it for May 15-17!!
If you are local, definitely plan to stop by the Lee Civic Center and check out our booth. We are also participating in the vintage market that is in the fall of this year. That market is September 25-27. Meanwhile, our Friday farmers market has decided to extend through summer. So that is where you can find us every Friday morning from 9 to 1.
XOXO,
Marc & Barb
